Re: Chelsea closing in on Antonio
I wouldn't swap Antonio plus cash for Batshuayi but I would Payet, quoted that we would let him go for £35m as his value will drop, where Michys value can only rise. Chelsea have the luxury not to have to worry about such things and the move would suit all concerned now or in the summer, you heard it here first.

If I was Antonio...and Chelsea wanted to sign me for a big fee...better wages...as a squad player and fight for a place in their team...Top 4...Champions league etc...

He'll Yes...

Especially after being under appreciated and fucked around on the pitch by a moody average manager...

We were indeed promised signings that would "amaze," us last summer. We didn't realise this meant Chelsea signing our top goalscorer

Re: Chelsea closing in on Antonio
I'd be seriously annoyed if we sold Antonio.

I don't particularly rate him very highly ability-wise, but he's got passion, puts in a shift, and somehow manages to find himself in the right place at the right time quite often.

I have serious doubts about our current scouting/transfer network's ability to adequately replace him too given our recent winger purchases.

Nobody was promised anything, and I've never met a fan who has bought a season ticket based on what players they think the club might buy.

Re: Chelsea closing in on Antonio
You never want to see a player go to a rival, particularly those cunts but on a personal level you couldn’t really blame him if he did go.

In the box set for the title, and at worst look highly likely they will qualify for CL, what can we offer? A relegation fight and only the remote prospect of any European football that we have shown the last 2 seasons we will most likely fuck up anyway, then let’s not forget the massive salary and contract, and he doesn’t have to up sticks and move house etc, and maybe have more chances of international duty in the England side given the love fest with certain clubs and there players

Still hope it doesn’t happen

I really don't think they were anywhere near that specific. And even if they were, if Zaza had worked out it would have been true.

Re: Chelsea closing in on Antonio
OTB- that's what was said by Sullivan at the end of last season no doubt to sell season tickets. What we got was Ayew (c£20m) and Zaza potentially £25m.

It's not just about the money but moving to a club that has a genuine chance of honours.
Much as it pains me to say it, the last two seasons we haven't been close. Couldn't even qualify for a tin pot Europa League. Even saw his call up to England disappear. Much more likely to get picked playing for them however wrong that is.
If the club accept a deal and he is ambitious then he'd be stupid to turn it down.

Don't want him to go btw, think he is one of the brightest lights this season but I could understand if he did want to go.

The last player I want to see leave, whatever the fee. If he does, I hope he'll be happy spending a lot of time on the bench. I just can't see him there.

Absolutely, I'd 100% rather Payet go than Antonio. Not that I think there's any chance of Antonio going.

Re: Chelsea closing in on Antonio
I would rather see Payet go than Antonio, Payet seemingly is only a matter of time before he leaves as he clearly doesn't want to stay - I thought Antonio is just the type of player we would not consider selling!

deal

people actually said that? ha-ha. i seem to recall a few people presuming that feghouli was his replacement on the wing due to slav wanting to use antonio as a right back though.
